Job Overview

Deliver an exceptional customer experience by adhering to the Customer 1st philosophy. Meet the sales and profitability targets set for the pharmacy department, manage quality assurance standards and expenses, and effectively schedule and staff technicians according to business needs. Oversee all functions, responsibilities, and activities within the department. The Assistant Pharmacy Manager will be tasked with customer service, operational workflow, technician oversight, and patient consultation. Key Responsibilities
  • Address the prescription needs of customers while ensuring the accuracy of each prescription filled. Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (including HIPAA) governing pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct, and attitude, as well as the overall condition of the pharmacy. Adhere to pharmacy standards and enforce company dress code.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the trade area, customer demographics, and competitive landscape.
  • Foster a Pharmacy department image characterized by service, friendliness, and collaboration with customers, company personnel, and external vendors.
  • Oversee stock replenishment, inventory management, policy adherence, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgeting, management reporting, and product recalls in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate records, inventory, and security for all scheduled medications (controlled substances).
  • Follow established procedures for sourcing pharmacy products from authorized suppliers.
  • Utilize all accuracy tools, including the accuracy scanner and 24-Hour Post Dispensing Audit, effectively.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive record keeping necessary for legal compliance, company policy, accounting standards, and other management reports.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, including work counters, shelves, floors, and customer service areas, to present a professional and sanitary image.
  • Manage product returns in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in proper working order, including computers, printers, accuracy scanners, and cash registers.
  • Organize all policy manuals, reference materials, state regulations, and required equipment, ensuring all staff are knowledgeable in their use.
  • Maintain proper signage in all necessary areas, including store hours, counseling signs, service signs, and pharmacist identification.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Current State Pharmacist Licensure in good standing
  • Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of retail experience
