Key Responsibilities
  • Establish connections. Present, demonstrate, and assist in promoting Esri software and solutions as part of the account team. Engage with technical decision-makers at the enterprise level and lead technical discussions that enhance revenue generation.
  • Be a specialist. Serve as a technical authority on Esri technology and a subject matter expert in local government. Exhibit your advanced knowledge of sales strategies and initiatives to create intricate solutions for Esri's most significant clients. Comprehend an organization’s structure, workflows, third-party systems, and integration points. Share insights and mentor new team members on best practices.
  • Address challenges. Proactively design and propose solutions that illustrate how GIS delivers business value to our clients by tackling their critical challenges. Define and implement complex strategies that align Esri technology with the business needs of our largest clients.
  • Communicate our vision. Develop presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences within Esri's major clients. Provide configuration advice and best practices. Speak at large conferences and executive events.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with Esri technology, including map creation, spatial analysis, and web application configuration
    • 3+ years of experience in state or local government
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT perspective (including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing)
  • Proven experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
  • Understanding of sales and business development processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
  • Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and environments (Microsoft Azure or AWS)
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems, including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
  • Programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and listening abilities
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
  • Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge of digitalization strategies encompassing mobile, IoT, advanced analytics, data science (AI/ML), and imagery
  • Master's degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
