Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Upstate University Hospital. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in various locations, including our Patient Service Centers and Limited Service Laboratories.

You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure accurate and efficient blood collection, processing, and testing. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from patients in various locations
  • Use EMR/LIS systems to create registrations, transcribe/scan orders, and release and accession orders
  • Identify patients and label specimens appropriately
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and efficient blood collection and testing
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy experience or graduation from an approved Phlebotomy program
  • Typing, computer skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable means of transportation and a NYS driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Basic understanding of medical laboratory technology and medical terminology
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional weekends and holidays as needed
