Position Overview:

The Baton Rouge Community College is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Automotive Emissions Testing Specialist. This full-time position is situated within the Technical and Adult Education Department and plays a crucial role in maintaining vehicle emissions standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting emissions assessments utilizing the latest LDEQ testing equipment and software.
  • Providing support in the training and reporting processes for motor vehicle inspection personnel.
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with LDEQ regulations.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to all clients.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of professional experience as an ASE certified technician.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in time management and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Competent in using word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding work-related information.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Dean of Technical Studies and Adult Education.
