Job Title: Manufacturing Tooling Technician

Farrar Corporation is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Tooling Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Tooling Technician will be responsible for rigging, maintaining, and repairing production equipment, including patterns and core boxes used in the sand casting process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patternmaking and Maintenance: Build, repair, and maintain patterns using various materials (wood, plastic, metal) based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Pattern Modification: Modify existing patterns or core boxes as needed to accommodate design changes or improve casting quality.
  • Pattern Inspection: Inspect patterns regularly to ensure they are in optimal condition for casting operations.
  • Pattern Repair: Repair damaged patterns by filling, shaping, or reinforcing them to restore functionality.
  • Pattern Assembly: Assemble pattern components and core boxes to form complete patterns for sand casting.
  • Tooling Delivery and Retrieval: Tooling delivery, retrieval, cleaning, and inspection for daily foundry production.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
Qualifications:
  • Patternmaking Experience: Patternmaking experience preferred but not required.
  • Manufacturing Background: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematic skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to complete accurate work with strong attention to detail.
  • Responsibility and Accountability: Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift up to 80 pounds on occasion.
  • Mobility: Ability to bend, twist, reach, and walk.
