Position Overview:

The Field Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance practices at job sites, coordinating with vendors for parts and supplies, and implementing effective maintenance forecasting strategies. This role involves direct supervision of field mechanics and close collaboration with the Regional Equipment Manager.


Location & Travel Details:

This position requires extensive travel, potentially up to 100% of the time, covering various project sites within the designated area. We provide weekly subsistence allowances in addition to base compensation to assist with living expenses and relocation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise field mechanics on assigned projects.
  • Assist in developing an Equipment Matrix that includes start dates, milestones, and equipment availability.
  • Establish local vendors for routine maintenance services such as oil changes and tire repairs.
  • Help create and manage an equipment budget focused on repairs and maintenance.
  • Participate in daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings to update the project team on maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations for all vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct monthly inspections to maintain vehicle cleanliness and functionality.
  • Manage maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Oversee the scheduling of equipment transportation and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in heavy equipment or construction.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Commitment to health and safety principles.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and efficiency in task execution.
  • Proficient in digital tools for inspections and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Working Environment:

Job site visits may involve exposure to various hazards, requiring adherence to safety protocols. Conditions may include extreme temperatures, dust, and noise, necessitating appropriate precautions.
