Job Description Lab Tech I - Clinton, IAThis is a swing shift position. 7:00am to 7:00pm and 6:45 pm to 6:45am rotating weeks.Job Description: Perform routine analytical chemistry tests in an accurate and timely manner. Be responsible for conducting routine quality control (QC) testing and recordkeeping in a safe, accurate and orderly manner. Conduct various wet chemical and instrumental analyses of samples for process control and final QC inspection. Ensure the accuracy of finished product analysis. Maintain aseptic technique while performing microbiological related tests.
Education:An Associate's degree in science or equivalent work experience is preferred.Desired Skills and Experience:Science backgroundPrevious experience with the analytical testingFamiliar with GMP/GLP (Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices)Understanding of wet chemistry techniquesExperience with lab instrumentationMicrobiology background preferredRequirements:The willingness and ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call coverageActively participate in training efforts and safety initiativesAttention to detail following procedures, proper analytical technique and computer entryGood judgment in reporting errors, unusual conditions or events to supervisionCommunicate results, problems, and priorities to supervisor and production departments in a timely mannerStrong computer skills including accurate data entry and the use of databases and MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to follow complicated technical instructionsAbility to use mathematicsFlexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvementMaintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areasMaintain routine supplies in work area on each shift workedCore Competencies:AccountabilityAttention to detailCommitment / Dependability / OwnershipComposure Under Pressure / ProfessionalismCustomer FocusContinuous ImprovementTeam FocusOpenness in Communicating / ListeningOrganization & Planning / Management of PrioritiesProblem Solving / Decision MakingResults OrientationSpecial Characteristics:Must have the ability to relocate equipment and supplies.Involves standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders.Lifting up to 50 lbs.
