Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Specialist Advanced works under the supervision of the Chief Technologist of Nuclear Medicine. Performs all imaging procedures offered in the Nuclear Medicine Department. Maintains and performs defined quality control on all equipment used. Assumes responsibility for patient safety while providing high-quality techniques. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate all equipment in the scanning areas and perform various tests with that equipment.
  • Teach students, instruct patients, communicate with physicians and co-workers.
  • Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Think critically and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform basic math functions and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Work well under pressure, problem-solve, and organize and prioritize workload.
  • Recall information with accuracy and pay close attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine Program required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Certified and registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), and State of California - Certified Technologist - Nuclear Medicine required.
  • ARRT Certified Technologist (CT) and State of California - Radiologic Technologist preferred.
