Work hours from 10 PM to 6 AM, totaling 16 hours per week, including every other weekend and holiday. Additional weekend and shift incentives available.
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized care to residents in long-term care settings. Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the NA provides essential nursing care and assistance with daily living activities.
The NA is responsible for understanding and delivering age-appropriate care tailored to the physical and emotional needs of residents, as outlined in their care plans.
As a member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs while providing emotional support.
- Facilitating safe transfers and mobility for residents.
- Supporting meal preparation and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Documenting resident interactions and communicating any changes in condition to the charge nurse.
- Participating in wellness and recreational programs to encourage resident engagement.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory. Candidates must be at least 16 years old. Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous.
Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required, with training provided by the facility. Candidates must complete yearly competency testing and maintain continuing education credits.
For certain states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be necessary.
