**Job Summary:**

The Bookkeeping Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and spreadsheets, to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that all financial obligations are met.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate records of employee compensation and benefits.
  • Generate and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting, providing recommendations to management on financial planning and strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations, to maintain a high level of financial integrity and transparency.
  • Manage vendor and client communications related to invoicing and payments, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and audits, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and complete.
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as needed, providing support to the accounting team and management.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in the agriculture, manufacturing, or construction industry.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
