Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role involves leveraging your clinical expertise to conduct utilization management assessments, including prior authorizations, coverage exceptions, quantity limit exceptions, and additional related tasks.
New pharmacists are regarded as potential long-term team members, with the possibility of transitioning to permanent roles in the future, although a specific timeline for this conversion cannot be assured. Contracts are reviewed biannually for extension.
Essential Qualifications:- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the relevant State Board of Pharmacy

This is a contractual role with a duration of 6 months.
Work Environment:
This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in location. Core operational hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday. After the training period, new contractors typically begin their shifts between 9-10 AM CST. Shift assignments are determined through a team bidding process based on seniority. Schedules and hours may vary according to business requirements. Candidates should anticipate a full-time commitment, with potential overtime during peak periods. Part-time arrangements are not available. Overtime may be necessary during busy seasons, generally from November through May. Weekend shifts are rotated among team members, and holiday work is shared. During peak times, weekend rotations may occur every other weekend, while outside of peak times, it is approximately every sixth weekend. Candidates should be prepared to work during one of the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays in the current year. Future holiday assignments will be determined through a team bidding process. Contractors are entitled to up to 120 hours of unpaid time off annually, with time off requests made based on seniority.
No time off is permitted during the initial training phase, which lasts between 10 to 16 weeks (with exceptions for Thanksgiving and Christmas).
Training will occur Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Any time off after training must be disclosed during the interview for supervisor consideration during the initial contract period. Training consists of a blend of instructor-led sessions, video materials, worksheets, and practical case studies. Due to class size and training dynamics, time off during this period will be limited. The only exception may be during the Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks due to trainer availability.In the event of an emergency, we will collaborate with candidates regarding time off, but we cannot guarantee the ability to provide adequate back-training.
