Pharmacist I
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role involves applying your clinical expertise to conduct utilization management assessments, including prior authorizations, coverage exceptions, quantity limit exceptions, and additional related tasks.
Newly hired pharmacists are viewed as potential long-term team members, with the possibility of transitioning to permanent roles in the future; however, a specific timeline for this conversion cannot be assured, and contracts are reviewed biannually for renewal.
Essential Qualifications:- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the relevant state.
Employment Type:
This is a contractual role with a duration of 6 months.
Work Environment:
This position is fully remote and can be performed from any state, excluding California and Hawaii. Core business hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday. After the training period, new contractors typically begin their shifts between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM CST. Shift assignments are determined through a team bidding process based on seniority. Schedules and hours may vary according to business requirements. Candidates should be prepared for a full-time commitment, including potential overtime during peak periods. Part-time arrangements are not available. Overtime may be necessary during busy seasons, particularly from November to May. The team shares weekend shifts and holidays, with weekend rotations occurring every other weekend during peak times and approximately every sixth weekend during off-peak periods. Candidates should anticipate working one of the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays in the current year. Future holiday assignments will be determined through a team bidding process. Contractors are entitled to up to 120 hours of unpaid time off annually, with time off requests submitted based on seniority.
No time off is permitted during the training phase, which lasts between 10 to 16 weeks (with exceptions for the Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks).
Training will occur Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Any requests for time off after training must be disclosed during the interview for supervisor consideration within the initial 6-month contract. Training consists of a combination of instructor-led sessions, videos, worksheets, and practical case studies. Due to class size and the nature of the training, time off during this period will be limited. The only exceptions may be during the Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks due to trainer availability.In the event of an emergency, we will strive to accommodate candidates' time off requests, but we cannot guarantee that adequate back-training will be possible.
