Nautical Electrical Technician

Position Overview:
Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a skilled professional to become a part of the Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT). This position focuses on the assessment and rectification of electrical systems aboard naval vessels. The successful candidate will possess a background in evaluating and resolving electrical system issues, interpreting technical schematics, and mentoring personnel in equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and rectify faults in electrical equipment
- Engage with clients and subcontractors effectively
- Guide and oversee the work of team members
- Create and utilize technical documentation
- Coordinate schedules and communicate with clients and management
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Capability to secure and uphold a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Familiarity with electrical systems on maritime vessels
- Physical ability to lift heavy machinery and operate in demanding environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a current DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher
- 6-8 years of experience in shipboard electrical systems
- Prior experience in diagnosing shipboard electrical issues
Physical Demands:
Candidates should be prepared to lift substantial equipment, work under extreme conditions, and may need to travel.
