Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law Enforcement Instructor to join our team at the Department of Criminal Justice Training. As a Law Enforcement Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality training to law enforcement personnel, enhancing their skills and knowledge to effectively serve and protect the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs on law enforcement topics, including tactics, strategies, and procedures.
  • Conduct scenario-based training and utilize adult learning principles to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Research and revise established lesson plans, develop new lesson plans, and create instructional materials for law enforcement or law enforcement-related topics.
  • Coordinate class training and preparation for training courses, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Prepare and complete all required administrative paperwork, testing, grading, and class reports.
  • Attend internal and external training courses to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer or in law enforcement telecommunications.
  • Ability to work in a classroom and/or simulated training setting, with occasional travel required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift heavy objects or work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
