Summer Product Development Internship

Savvas Learning Company is seeking undergraduate students for a summer internship program in Northbrook, IL. As an Editorial Intern, you will assist in the development process for innovative instructional materials for use in K-12 schools.

Responsibilities include correlating instructional content to state standards, reviewing digital reading texts and developing metadata, and participating in the development of content and assembly documents for digital shared content objects (SCOs).

We are looking for students who are enthusiastic about working in a hybrid environment, onsite a minimum of two days per week in our Northbrook, IL office. You should be proficient in software used during the product development process, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Our internship program is eight weeks long and offers a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience. You will have manageable assignments, support diverse programs, experience a variety of editorial tasks, and contribute meaningfully to the development of K-12 educational materials.

What We Are Looking For:

  • You are a current student enrolled in an undergraduate program from an accredited college or university, graduating after August 2025, studying Education, History, or Publishing
  • You can commit to a full-time role (40 hours per week), for eight weeks out of the summer
  • You're enthusiastic about working in a hybrid environment, onsite a minimum of two days per week in our Northbrook, IL office
  • You're proficient in software used during the product development process, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • You're organized and manage time well
  • You have an aptitude and desire to learn new software applications
  • You're a great communicator, verbally and in writing
  • You can multitask and set priorities, and you complete assigned tasks on schedule with the required level of quality
  • You're open to using constructive feedback to refine your skills and you're open to working collaboratively on a team

What's Next?

We will begin the screening process in December 2024, qualified candidates will be invited to the following steps:

  • Phone Screen - You'll have a prescreen via phone with someone from our Talent Acquisition Team.
  • Formal Interview - During this stage, you will meet with a panel of interviewers, via video, including your potential intern mentor and other members of the intern leadership team.
  • Offer - If identified as the most qualified candidate, you can expect to receive an employment offer, outlining the internship details and compensation.
