Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients as they arrive and manages standard wait times
  • Completes check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, authorizations, and document copying
  • Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issues receipts
  • Processes walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Manages medical records, including maintenance, filing, and preparation
  • Prioritizes incoming calls
  • Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, and processes requests for medical records release
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, and providers
  • Schedules procedural appointments

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of receptionist or customer service experience in a healthcare setting
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time if needed to cover other offices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to speak Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with an electronic health records
  • Knowledge and ability to learn and apply job functions, and minimal medical terminology knowledge
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
