Job Title: Environmental Protection Specialist

Orchard LLC is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice and analysis on climate change policy affecting all aspects of transportation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coordinate climate policy affecting all aspects of transportation.
  • Communicate complex information to a broad audience, including top-level agency officials.
  • Design and conduct strategic program studies, serving as technical authority for these programs.
  • Assess and improve environmental programs using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Provide support for environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal policies and procedures.
  • Advise the Director on key decision points and ensure policy decisions are accurate and timely.
  • Evaluate program functions, policy initiatives, and studies related to climate policy.
  • Support Departmental efforts on climate change, ensuring consistency with existing environmental laws and regulations.
  • Conduct research on environmental issues in transportation, including greenhouse gas emissions and reduction strategies.
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
  • Minimum 5 years' experience applying principles, concepts, and practices related to environmental impact on program activities.
  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Experience and comfort with MS Office products
  • Desire to work on a team in a collaborative culture and face directly with clients
  • Creative problem-solving ability and consultancy mind-set
  • Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
