Responsibilities You will: Provide leadership, plan, organize, and manage the activities of the Section. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Participate as a first line supervisor in representation, planning and implementation of team-based projects. Serve as an expert consultant on various workgroups, panels or committees. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position. This development program is designed to enhance leadership skills and abilities and meet the Agency's goal of providing new leaders with the skills and tools you need to be successful. #LI-DNI Qualifications NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as managing an environmental protection program related to risk management, chemical safety, or pollution prevention; leading coaching, and mentoring others; and participating in work groups, panels or committees. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of policy, regulatory and non-regulatory approaches related to chemical risk management. Skill in project management for projects and programs. Skill in analysis and interpretation of analytical information to support decision-making. Ability to perform a full range of supervisory duties. Skill in leading policy, regulatory and non-regulatory projects by planning, resourcing, monitoring and evaluating a range of activities. Ability to plan and direct the timely execution of a risk management program. Ability to communicate policy, regulatory and non-regulatory, scientific and technical information to diverse audiences. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
