Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Services Manager to join our team at Holland America Group. As an Assistant Manager of Transportation Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services, supervising a team of seasonal Transportation Services team members, and overseeing daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Staff Management: Assist in managing Transportation staff and activities to meet guests' satisfaction.
  • CDL Training: Support annual Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training for new drivers to help prepare them to earn their CDL license.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Apply knowledge of Federal transportation regulations and laws, Company products, policies, and procedures to all tasks.
  • Route Management: Support, monitor, and manage route updates, changes Driver assignments, and employee relations.
  • Scheduling: Prepare driver-guides schedules and monitor the operations.
  • Interviewing and Training: Participate in our transportation departmental interviewing, selection, and training.
  • Performance Management: Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, and coaching of directly assigned personnel.
Requirements
  • Education: This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in transportation services or operations equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Experience: This job normally requires three years of progressively responsible positions in hotel front desk management. Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is required.
  • License and Certification: You must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested. Commercial Driver's License certification is required (may be obtained through our Company-paid training program).
  • Age and Eligibility: Minimum age of 21 years of age is required to operate a commercial vehicle. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
  • Background Check and Drug Test: Must pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test. You will be included in our company's randomized drug testing program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservations systems, Excel, and Word.
  • Time Management and Organization: Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise, and manage staff.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. Ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including support and compliance with company health and safety standards.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
