Job Summary

The University of California seeks a highly skilled Sleep Technologist to perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms, multiple sleep latency tests, and home sleep apnea tests. The ideal candidate will have experience in polysomnography, sleep recording instrumentation, and scoring techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms, multiple sleep latency tests, and home sleep apnea tests
  • Calibrate equipment, attach sensors to patients, and perform bio-calibration
  • Monitor laboratory equipment and observe patients while they sleep
  • Make decisions to initiate Bi/CPAP titration or other treatment as needed
  • Score polysomnographic recordings on request
  • Occasionally work days to perform MSLTs, infant and pediatric recordings, scoring of records, and other functions as requested
Qualifications
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • License from the Medical Board of California
  • Polysomnographic Tech or Respiratory Care Board of CA Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • One of the following certifications: RPSGT, NBRC, CPFT, RPFT, CRT, RRT, or RST
  • Experience in polysomnography and sleep recording instrumentation
  • Basic computer skills
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working flexible hours, including nights and days, as patient scheduling indicates.
