Estimated Annual Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $67,000, with a starting hourly rate of $32.50 and increasing with experience. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is also offered.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Central Maine Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing and therapeutic treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary diseases.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefit-eligible, night shift position. The Respiratory Therapist supports all members of the patient care team with the overall care plan of the patient, including pulmonary disease-specific education where indicated or ordered.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Performing diagnostic testing and therapeutic treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary diseases
  • Administering respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen delivery and ventilator management
  • Maintaining knowledge of various methods of oxygen delivery and associated equipment
  • Assessing patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation
  • Documenting all pertinent data on the patient's medical record following completion of any service
Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Current Respiratory Therapist Licensure of the State of Maine (RRT or CRT)
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification preferred
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required
  • A minimum of one-year respiratory care is preferred
