Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Focused HR Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for interfacing with various offices and divisions to review requirements, lead Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, schedule meetings, prepare test plans, and create system requirement documents for use by system analysts to produce detailed design documents for specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture and Analyze Requirements: Work with business stakeholders to capture detailed requirements for various stages of an application life cycle.
  • Verify System Requirements: Ensure that system requirements are traceable, consistent, complete, and testable.
  • Document and Track Changes: Write checklists to track all components involved in application changes and perform requirements, design, and code walk-through/reviews as requested.
  • Develop and Maintain Test Plans: Write and maintain test plans based on software requirements and design documents.
  • Verify Software Applications: Verify that software applications perform in accordance with system requirements and specifications.
  • Measure and Document Defects: Measure the severity of failures and defects in accordance with test plan guidelines and accurately document application performance failures and defects during each quality review session.
  • Communicate Test Results: Clearly and accurately communicate test results to programming staff and/or appropriate management staff.
  • Enter and Update Issues: Regularly enter issues/defects related to the test life cycle or change control environment into the applicant tracking system and update applicable tracking system with problem solutions and status.
  • Conduct Meetings and Liaise: Conduct testing meetings, as necessary, for problems encountered during the test life cycle and act as liaison for application groups and external agencies.
  • Assist in Test Planning: Assist users in developing test plans, test scripts, and implementation plans as requested.
  • Provide Status Reports: Provide reports showing status and activity in the change control environment to technical teams and appropriate management staff.
  • Capture Meeting Notes and Action Items: Capture Meeting Notes, Action Items, and follow up on action items with the respective clients appropriately.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • IT Business Analysis Experience: 8 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, including requirements gathering, business process mapping, and testing methodology and practices.
  • Business Analysis Techniques: Experience implementing business analysis techniques, including use case modeling, Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Project Life Cycle Experience: Experience executing project life cycle from end to end and involvement in all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Software Skills: Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
  • Desired Skills: Previous experience working in state government is desired.
