Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs the planning, execution, and successful delivery of significant mining projects, encompassing feasibility assessments, design, and construction phases.
  • Offers specialized advice and consultancy on mining engineering methodologies, operational enhancements, and optimization techniques.
  • Manages investment evaluations and processes, oversees project financing, and ensures the effective management of project budgets and resources to deliver projects within established parameters and timelines.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including geology, environmental science, finance, and operations, to ensure project goals align with corporate strategy.
  • Mentors and nurtures the Investments team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stays informed on industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory shifts to maintain compliance and secure a competitive edge.
  • Leads and oversees technical and investment due diligence processes.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mining, geology, process engineering, or a related discipline.
  • An MBA or equivalent qualification in Business or Project Management is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining sector, with a proven history in operational, consultancy, or investment roles.
  • Extensive experience in investment execution and project management, demonstrating a solid grasp of financial and business principles within the mining context.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or similar certification is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring teams and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analyze complex data, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel 30%-50% of the time.
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week.
