Job Title: Vice President of Risk Management

HUB International Limited is seeking a highly skilled Vice President to lead our Risk Management Commercial Lines Department in our Fairfield, CT office.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a book of business, focusing on retention and growth of the portfolio. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Account Executives and support staff to achieve business objectives.
  • Service and monitor accounts, disseminating account activity and making recommendations for growth and retention.
  • Market renewals and new business opportunities, collaborating with the marketing department to achieve results.
  • Evaluate existing coverages and make recommendations for improvement, rounding out accounts as opportunities arise.
  • Negotiate with Underwriters to secure the best possible coverage and rates, in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Receive, review, and forward invoices, policies, endorsements, and other documents as necessary.
  • Market specialized coverages as needed, authorizing the release of Certificates of Insurance, Accord Binders, and Placement Requests.
  • Review and audit policies for compliance with internal procedures and binders specifications.
  • Prepare proposals for clients and potential clients, visiting clients as necessary to ensure satisfaction.
  • Conduct online meetings with clients when in-person meetings are not possible, attending staff and Account Executive meetings.
  • Apply proficiency in loss analysis, SIRs, Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as needed.
  • Assure proper disposition of items on expiration lists, participating in new business strategies meetings and presentations.
  • Provide training to junior staff, where needed, collaborating with unit staff.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of related experience.
  • Valid P&C License.
  • Experience with servicing middle market and large accounts.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of EPIC (ideal).
Compensation:

The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 to $168,000, impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.
