We employ a unique platform to produce new chemical leads based on these findings, combining data science, genomics, synthetic biology, and automation to discover potent, evolutionarily refined small molecules and their cognate targets from fungal genomes. When necessary, we apply medicinal chemistry to optimize these molecules into truly transformative medicines.

Job Summary

We are expanding our medicinal chemistry team and have an opening at the Senior Medicinal Chemist level. As a Senior Medicinal Chemist in the medicinal chemistry group at Drug Hunter Inc., you will work closely with the natural products chemistry and biology teams to launch new drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a functional area project leader from project initiation through investigational new drug (IND) filing. You will help lead a team of medicinal chemists, working together to design and synthesize optimized development candidates suitable for human clinical testing. Key Responsibilities
  • Design of new drug candidates and synthetic routes
  • Management of chemistry teams, both internally and externally
  • Leadership of a talented medicinal chemistry team with direct reports
  • Serve as a functional area project lead for drug discovery projects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to advance Drug Hunter Inc.'s pipeline
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree in organic or medicinal chemistry and 7+ years of experience in an industrial (non-academic) medicinal chemistry setting
  • Ability to lead teams and projects
  • Track record of success in advancing projects
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
