We are enhancing our medicinal chemistry division and have an opening for a Principal Scientist. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams in natural products chemistry and biology to initiate new drug discovery projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to act as a project leader from inception through investigational new drug (IND) submission. You will guide a team of medicinal chemists, collectively designing and synthesizing optimized candidates suitable for human clinical trials. This role provides significant career advancement opportunities through engagement with senior leadership and cross-functional collaboration across various scientific fields at Hexagon Bio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new drug candidates and their synthetic pathways
- Oversee chemistry teams, both in-house and external
- Lead a skilled medicinal chemistry team with direct reports
- Act as a project lead for drug discovery initiatives
- Collaborate across functions to propel Hexagon Bio's pipeline forward
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry with over 7 years of experience in an industrial medicinal chemistry environment
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects
- Demonstrated success in advancing scientific projects
