Accounting Manager Position Overview

Creative Financial Staffing is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Mount Vernon, NY. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our construction firm.

About the Role

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in construction accounting and possess strong knowledge of JD Edwards and Microsoft Excel.
  • You will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, as well as coordinating internal and external audits.
  • Your duties will include managing insurance schedules, preparing binders for executive management, and responding to information requests from the parent company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the controller's checklist to ensure all entries are posted to the general ledger for the closing period.
  • Run and prepare profit recognition for Work in Process schedules for 3 Companies.
  • Prepare mid-year re-forecast and annual budget.
  • Maintain all insurance schedules (GL, WC, Auto, etc.) and participate in audits.
  • Develop methods of forecasting for the policy period.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance financial schedules for review.
  • Prepare weekly financial reporting schedules to the parent company.
  • Prepare monthly Accounting Schedules which include Statement of Cash flow, WIP reconciliation, PP&E, Debt, and Business Insurance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Project Controls/Project management processes.
  • Construction Accounting Experience, AIA Billing, Certified Payroll, Job Costing, Financial Modeling, Forecasting & Budgeting preferred.
  • JD Edwards knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Location and Compensation

The position is full-time onsite in Mount Vernon, NY, and offers a competitive salary range of up to $140,000 depending on experience.
