The Evening Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing our subacute and long-term care units. This position involves assessing residents' needs and providing guidance to the nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing evaluations of residents upon admission and as needed, followed by appropriate follow-up care.
- Serve as the primary liaison between residents and their families, fostering open communication.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans, making adjustments as necessary.
- Supervise nursing staff, including nurses, nursing assistants, and unit clerks, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians to maintain high-quality resident care.
- Monitor and audit care plan modifications to ensure they meet residents' needs.
- Provide hands-on nursing care and medication administration as required.
- Licensure: Valid New York State Registered Nursing License.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year as an RN in a long-term care environment; preferred 3-5 years with supervisory experience.
- Education: Minimum of an Associate's Degree; preferred Bachelor's Degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific care for adult and geriatric populations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with other departments.
- Ability to maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and compassion in care delivery.
