Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist-CT Specialist to join our team at King's Daughters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality computed tomography imaging services to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

Duties and Essential Functions
  • Verify Patient Information

Verify patient orders and medical history prior to examination, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services.

Operate Computed Tomography Equipment

Operate computed tomographic equipment and accessories, demonstrating knowledge and competency in CT techniques, including safety protocols and scanning procedures.

Perform Examinations

Perform computed tomography examinations by analyzing patient information and selecting the appropriate scanning protocol. Edit scan protocols as needed to ensure optimal diagnostic value.

Evaluate Images

Evaluate images for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and provide CDs with accurate patient identification.

Practice Radiation Protection

Practice principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.

Administer Contrast Media

Identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Maintain Equipment

Perform diagnostic testing on equipment and report malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or radiology administrative director.

Education, License, Certification, and Other Requirements
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
    • Maintains active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
    • Maintains active Radiographer Operators Certificate (ROC) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or other applicable states as needed.
    • Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Advanced ARRT certification in CT.
  • Preferred Qualifications
Working Environment
  • Constantly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Constantly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting).
  • Frequently required to walk and move about.
  • Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
  • Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
  • Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Occasionally required to position self in order to meet patient needs.
