Registered Nurse for Telephone Triage

Advanced Pediatric Associates is in search of a committed and proficient Telephone Triage Nurse. In this full-time position, you will evaluate and categorize patients via telephone, identifying their healthcare requirements and the urgency of intervention. Utilizing APA's medical protocols, nursing methodologies, and ClearTriage Systems guidelines, you will deliver exceptional triage services. Compliance with APA's electronic medical record standards is crucial.
Work Schedule: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, four days a week, with occasional Saturday mornings.
Please be aware that this role necessitates in-office presence and is not suitable for remote work.
Compensation: $30 - $34 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

- Daytime hours with evenings and weekends off, except for occasional Saturday mornings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver telephone triage care adhering to established nursing protocols and procedures.
- Arrange patient appointments as necessary following our scheduling protocols.
- Accurately record all triage interactions, prescription renewals, and prior authorization requests in our system.
- Precisely calculate medication dosages.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding patient care.
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, APA team members, and hospital representatives.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and prescriptions.
- Thoroughly document all triage calls, including the protocols employed, and follow up on any medically concerning matters.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Current Colorado RN license required.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics.
- Prior telephone triage experience preferred.
- Understanding of professional nursing theory and practice.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
