Job Summary:

The RN Operating Room position at Medical City Lewisville offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of patients. As a member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assessing the operative nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions, and evaluating outcomes of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and/or supervise surgical technologists and non-licensed nursing staff.
  • Anticipate and plan for the needs of the surgical team and coordinate the care provided in the operating room while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment.
  • Communicate and educate the patient and/or their family members and/or significant others regarding events pertinent to their care.

Requirements:

  • TX RN License or RN Compact State License
  • BLS from approved HCA vendor
  • ACLS from approved HCA vendor. If currently have ACLS it must be maintained; if not, it must be obtained within 6 months and then maintained
  • PALS from approved HCA vendor. If currently have PALS it must be maintained; if not, it must be obtained within 6 months and then maintained
  • ADN required
  • BSN preferred. If hired into RN required position after September 2014 and no BSN, then BSN required within 3 years of facility date
  • Must have minimum of one year recent nursing experience in area of practice in an acute care setting
