NV5 is seeking a skilled Shop and Field Technician to support our LNG and natural gas plant projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing piping systems, performing pressure testing, and repairing assembled pipes.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate and assemble piping systems, including selecting equipment and components, laying out and positioning pipe, and bolting and clamping to secure in position for welders.
- Perform pressure testing of pipe used for installation at gas plants.
- Repair assembled pipes by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling.
- Operate equipment such as lulls, lifts, fork trucks, and drive trucks and/or trailers locally and occasionally to job sites.
- Travel up to 30% in support of construction projects in the field.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience in the piping industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers.
- Experience in the LNG, natural gas, petrochemical, oil, or power system industry.
- Knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.
