The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of hourly or student Safety and Compliance Officers within its Parking and Transportation Services.
The Safety and Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and enforcing regulations across various parking facilities and locations; assisting patrons, visitors, and community partners; and ensuring adherence to relevant policies at the state and federal levels. This role is crucial in delivering efficient and reliable services to the community.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily patrols of assigned facilities to maintain a secure environment for all users Serve as the liaison with local law enforcement and public safety agencies to implement safety protocols in the absence of a supervisor Perform routine inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and report any maintenance issues Enforce parking regulations uniformly as per training received Gather and report occupancy statistics for designated parking areas to the Safety Supervisor Collaborate with facility staff to manage special events and specific assignments as directed by supervisors Monitor parking areas to ensure that assigned subscribers have access to their designated spots
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record Successful completion of a background check Ability to complete all required training Strong customer service skills Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Capability to work collaboratively with colleagues and manage multiple tasks effectively Basic computer and time management skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in customer service is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with basic maintenance and operation of relevant equipment
Required Certifications
Valid Virginia Driver's License with a clean driving record
