Team Overview
The team is dedicated to integrating a wide array of IoT devices into the SmartThings platform. As the IoT landscape expands, we are developing a cutting-edge platform to support a variety of connected devices, including MQTT and Audio/Video technologies. Our technology stack primarily utilizes Scala and the latest AWS services, including EC2 and Kubernetes.

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer to enhance and scale the SmartThings cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will manage a platform that processes billions of events daily, taking full ownership of both code and infrastructure while collaborating within a vibrant team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud services that ensure high availability and fault tolerance, covering everything from APIs to data storage.
  • Enhance the quality and uptime of our applications.
  • Transform product feature concepts into production-ready code.
  • Collaborate with developers and partners to innovate new features and refine existing functionalities.
  • Lead projects with ambiguous definitions and guide the direction as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement proactively.
  • Drive strategic initiatives within the team and communicate plans effectively across departments.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and oversee technical onboarding processes.
  • Quickly acclimate to established infrastructure and workflows.
