Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will be expected to lead multiple high-impact projects, driving innovation and efficiency in the manufacturing process. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve labor efficiency, optimize product quality, and reduce manufacturing operating costs.
  • Resolve and determine root cause of mechanical, optical, and electrical problems encountered in production.
  • Support new production development teams to transfer new products to manufacturing.
  • Participate in design reviews of new products for manufacturability and testability.
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers, and develop procedures and processes for assembly and test procedures.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a BS degree in ME, EE, IE, Physics, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years' experience working in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • CAD experience, i.e., SolidWorks.
  • Ability to develop Bills of Materials and Manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to train production assembly associates and test technicians.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems and test automation.
  • Experience resolving technical issues involving lasers and optical components.
