Job Description:

At First Tek, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering facility, you will play a critical role in creating statements of work, processes, procedures, and production layouts for the manufacturing of tooling assemblies, machining, and material handling equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering facility or equivalent. Proficiency in CAD software such as NX and Catia, as well as knowledge of composite manufacturing, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of tooling packages for supplier bid processes through procurement groups.
  • Analyze complex GD&T drawings and identify shortcomings or missing information.
  • Track supplier performance and answer technical questions related to manufacturing.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) equipment to support suppliers in manufacturing tooling.
  • Identify design errors, omissions, and deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in tool design layout.
  • Interact with design and development teams to meet all design tooling requirements.
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support activities related to estimating, RFQ/RFP/RFI, and ROM pricing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering/scientific discipline.
  • 2-5+ years' experience in a manufacturing engineering facility or equivalent.
  • Composite experience is a plus.
  • CAD solid modeling (experience with NX/CATIA) and drafting experience are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with tooling design, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing is a plus.
  • Oral and written communication, computer, documentation, and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
