As a part-time instructor, adjunct faculty members are contracted on a term-by-term basis, with no assurance of ongoing employment. The adjunct instructor will engage with a diverse student body. Course scheduling is determined by the academic department, and adjunct faculty will be informed of course timing prior to the issuance of an official contract. Flexibility in scheduling may be possible in certain cases. The following duties outline the minimum expectations for all faculty:
- Utilize the NP syllabus template, approved textbooks, and supplementary course materials, along with the Canvas LMS.
- Submit a personalized course syllabus to the dean electronically one week before the course commences.
- Adhere to the published course schedule regarding meeting times and locations.
- While formal office hours are not mandated, it is anticipated that faculty will be accessible to students outside of class via email and by appointment as necessary.
- Ensure timely grading and return of all assessments to students.
- Mid-term grades must be submitted for traditional undergraduate courses.
- All final grades and course responsibilities must be completed by the deadlines set by the Registrar each term, typically following finals week. This is essential for the adjunct assignment and contract to be deemed satisfactorily fulfilled.
Attendance Documentation: North Park University is obligated by federal regulations to verify attendance for financial aid purposes, particularly for students receiving non-passing grades. Faculty must document the last date a student engaged in academically related activities, including class attendance and examinations.

- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of North Park University's mission of Christian higher education.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

- Terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Canvas or a similar learning management system.
- Prior teaching experience at the university level.
