About the Job:

This position is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in customer service and support. As a Customer Service and Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service within the Jerry Falwell Library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Providing research assistance to customers in locating library resources using basic databases, electronic books, and computer searching techniques
  • Giving basic technology assistance by troubleshooting computers, answering printer questions, and keeping printer paper stocked
  • Maintaining a vigilant posture to support customers who may need assistance

Requirements:

  • Required to be a current student in good academic standing
  • Federal Work Study approved preferred
  • A grade point average of 3.0 or above is preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Second language proficiency preferred

Working Conditions:

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate. The working environment may also include the facilitation of outdoor events.

Estimated Salary: $15-$20 per hour (12-18 hours per week), approximately $300-$400 per month
