We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst with expertise in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology to support our contract with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). As a remote independent contractor, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on patentability for diverse technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough searches of commercial patent databases and proprietary databases of technical publications
- Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art to disclosures
- Maintain proficiency with search procedures and best practices
- Ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
- Comply with Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field
- 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects against deadlines
- Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer
- Previous patent examining/patent searching experience
- Master's degree or PhD in a related field
This is a remote position, and all work must be completed in the United States. You will need a computer running up-to-date versions of Windows or Mac OS, a reliable high-speed internet connection, and a secure work location.
