Patent Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst to join our team at Clarivate Analytics US LLC. As a Patent Analyst, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on patentability for diverse technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough searches of patent databases and other technical publications to identify relevant prior art.
  • Prepare written opinions applying the most relevant prior art to the disclosure.
  • Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and proprietary databases of technical publications.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and changes to search procedures through self-directed review of materials provided by Clarivate.
  • Ensure compliance with Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects against deadlines.
  • Experience with Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous patent examining/patent searching experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field.

Work Environment:

This is a remote position, and all work must be completed in the United States. A reliable, high-speed internet connection and a secure work location are required.
