We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Analyst with expertise in Chemistry to join our team at Clarivate Analytics US LLC. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical knowledge by researching and analyzing cutting-edge technologies.


As a remote independent contractor, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive searches and written opinions on the patentability of diverse technologies. You will work with us to provide PCT Chapter I Search and Examination services to the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).


Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing comprehensive searches to locate relevant prior art
  • Providing written opinions on patentability
  • Maintaining proficiency with commercial patent searching databases
  • Staying up-to-date with best practices and changes to search procedures


Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology
  • 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance


Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous patent examining/patent searching experience
  • Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and conducting searches
  • Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects against deadlines
