Position Overview
We are looking for a Mid to Senior Level Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in mechanical contracting, with particular experience in Fire Protection Systems and other M.E.P. systems. Projects will span across Healthcare, Higher Education, and Life Sciences.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel), Autobid Mechanical, and Bid Tracer (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to learning and adhering to safety protocols on site
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and precise labor, materials, and equipment takeoffs.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of projects.
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, vendors, and other departments to formulate estimates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
- Review project documents to gain a thorough understanding of scope.
- Work closely with the operations team to communicate key project scope information during proposal reviews and project transitions.
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring all scopes are included.
- Assist in maintaining bid documents, including plans, specifications, RFIs, addenda, quotes, and proposals.
- Identify project risks and opportunities for discussion with the team.
- Participate in scope review meetings with clients to address any inquiries.
