Job Summary

Randolph-Macon College seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Office of Alumni Relations. This role will assist in the development and implementation of alumni cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the production and distribution of event mailings, registration tracking, and logistical support for alumni and donor events.
  • Query the development database to generate event lists and mailing lists as requested by Alumni Relations staff.
  • Manage an accurate mailing/reporting calendar and production log to provide long-term assistance in project management and statistical tracking.
  • Coordinate the collection of class notes for publication in the RMC Alumni Magazine.
  • Assist with edits to the Alumni Office webpages.
  • Handle and process logistics for printing and framing of alumni awards.
  • Assist with processing invoices for payment.
  • Interact with departmental colleagues, other college staff members, and key volunteers and alumni.
Requirements
  • Non-profit experience is preferred, with a preference for experience in higher education.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, persuasive writing and speaking skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, is required.
  • Ability to interact with donors and volunteers, and an understanding and excitement about the process of solicitation and relationship-building through cultivation.
  • High energy level, initiative, and an appreciation for the purpose and values of a traditional residential college are required.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to accept night and weekend work are necessary.
