Job Summary

This position is located at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, within the Nevada Skies Youth Wellness Center. The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive nursing care to chemically dependent adolescents, ensuring they receive a wide range of health services involved in their treatment and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments of clients upon admission and reassess according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, individualized nursing care plans to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other members of the treatment team to develop treatment plans that meet the client's needs.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by consulting psychiatrists and other physicians, ensuring safe management of medication and related supplies and documentation.
  • Provide direct nursing care, including dressing changes and other medical procedures, as needed.
  • Conduct client education sessions on medication, treatment, side effects, and therapeutic effects.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have a graduate or higher level degree in professional nursing, or a bachelor's degree in nursing with relevant experience. You must also possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
