Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with members by making recommendations and answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members.
  • Cut, grind, and/or process fresh meats to company cutting standards.
  • Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
  • Maintain a visually appealing meat case showcasing all currently available products.
  • Ensure the meat department maintains an appropriate level of inventory.
  • Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
  • Inspect and store meat upon delivery.
  • Ensure all received meats meet or exceed company quality standards.
Requirements
  • Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
  • Previous meat cutting experience required.
  • Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent movement on hard surfaces, occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Located in a cooler area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is starting from $18.00.
