About the Job

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with Army National Guard Units as a Military Personnel Assistant. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Role:

  • Assist in administering the military personnel program for the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and participate in command-level inspections in the area of personnel and administration, identifying trends and proposing recommendations for improvements.
  • Compile subordinate feeder information, review and provide recommendations for the assignment and utilization of military personnel, and accomplish or review various military personnel transactions.
  • Provide administrative support for brigade-level enlisted promotion boards, reviewing enlistment actions prior to submission to higher headquarters for quality and completion.
  • Coordinate health services support, reviewing the status of all physical examinations within the command and making recommendations for scheduling and completion.
  • Provide technical guidance and reviews formal and informal line of duty investigations submitted by subordinate units.
  • Research and resolve routine military personnel problems and questions, assisting in the preparation of unit standing operating procedures and implementing Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Major Command, National Guard, and state regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Military membership in a compatible grade in the Alabama Army National Guard.
  • A minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, with knowledge of regulations and procedures sufficient to review, validate, and maintain military personnel records and supporting documents.
  • Knowledge of pay regulations and procedures, administrative regulations, retirement programs, survivor benefits, and casualty assistance.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
