Position Summary:

The role is primarily focused on overseeing and managing the operations of various departments involved in processing, packaging, quality assurance, sanitation, and storage. This is a hands-on position within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Conduct interviews for hiring and promotions, providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Document disciplinary actions and potential terminations, forwarding them for final review.

  • Coordinate labor resources according to production demands and communicate needs to senior management.
  • Assist in changeovers and verify the setup of production lines to ensure proper functioning.
  • Quickly identify and resolve operational issues, documenting them as necessary.
  • Adhere to customer specifications, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to management, ensuring daily production goals are met.
  • Analyze production records to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas throughout the shift.
  • Support performance reviews for production staff, providing input for final evaluations.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of containers on production lines.
  • Propose long-term solutions for equipment and process improvements.
  • Meet established productivity, quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
  • Spend the majority of the time on the production floor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience in food and beverage production management (minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role and 3-5 years in manufacturing).
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP in a food production setting.
  • Food Safety knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to calculate production metrics accurately.
  • Knowledge of FESMA, PCQI, and management systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including conflict resolution and team development.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Better Process certification required or willingness to obtain it.
  • Must complete Food Safety Training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and engaging in various movements.
  • Close visual acuity for tasks such as reading and inspecting.
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions.
