This position operates under the guidance of the Sr. Director, Business Affairs Administration, Publishing, who oversees the contracts for the U.S. publishing sector.Responsibilities:
Key Duties:
Act as a liaison to assist the Sr.
Director, Business Affairs Administration, Publishing in delivering business and legal affairs contract administration support for the various U.S. publishing teams.
Manage the contract administration tasks for a designated portion of the US publishing operations:
Collaborate with other departments
to ensure effective management of contracts and related deliverables:
e.g., proper registration, royalty administration, etc.
Compile contract summaries
Work collaboratively with various internal departments on songwriter client inquiries in partnership with A&R, Copyright, Royalty, Client Services, and/or Finance
Assist in preparing and maintaining reports and tracking systems, including tracking new agreements, upcoming options and expirations, delivery requirements, advance triggering events, recoupment positions, and other significant terms)
Prepare and monitor invoices for contractual payments related to publishing agreements across the U.S. publishing operations
Maintain publishing files and records in accordance with the company's document storage and retention policy, including participation in various technology initiatives.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
At least 2-3 years of professional experience in the music publishing industry, preferably in rights management
Ability to think critically, manage multiple tasks, and perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with tight and frequently changing timeframes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex contractual concepts into clear terms and provide timely and accurate assessments of contractual language
Proactive, adaptable, coachable, and positive
Strong attention to detail and self-directed; capable of transforming ambiguity into actionable plans
Proficient computer skills and reasonable proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Adobe Acrobat PRO, Outlook, and cloud-based document management platforms.
Salary Range:
$60,000
*This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence for part of the week.
