Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an educational environment plays a crucial role in assessing and addressing students' communication needs. This position involves conducting thorough evaluations and delivering tailored therapy services based on individualized plans and medical directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' communication abilities, including articulation, fluency, and language skills, to identify disorders and determine eligibility for services.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to share insights, resolve challenges, and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Facilitate meetings and processes for students requiring support, including assessments, IEP development, and parent consultations.
  • Create and implement effective treatment strategies and educational resources aimed at alleviating the impact of communication disorders.
  • Instruct students in the use of assistive communication technologies to enhance their learning experience.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including progress reports and treatment documentation, to track student development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborative meetings to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, focusing on improving their communication skills and overall academic success.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the educational mission.
