Student Financial Services Specialist

Position Summary: This role focuses on managing and processing financial transactions related to student accounts, including payments, deposits, and various account activities. This is a non-supervisory position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of two to three years of cash handling experience in a professional environment.
- Familiarity with financial practices, internal controls, basic record-keeping, and reconciliation processes.
- Background in business, bookkeeping, or accounting courses is preferred.
- At least two years of demonstrated customer service experience in a financial or educational context.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact at the Student Accounts Office, providing professional and courteous responses to inquiries from students, parents, and staff via email and phone.
- Serve as the cashier for the Student Accounts Office, processing various forms of payments.
- Conduct data entry for accurate recording of payments and charges, ensuring daily reconciliations are completed.
- Review and manage past-due accounts, assisting students in fulfilling their financial obligations.
- Authorize the removal of holds on accounts once financial issues are resolved.
- Coordinate departmental correspondence, including invoices and statements.
- Analyze accounts to provide accurate information to students and staff.
- Prepare invoices for third-party payers regarding tuition and special payments.
- Ensure the department's website is accurate and compliant with federal regulations.
- Assist with special projects and audits as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
